Right now, you may feel frustrated with the problems in your life. Perhaps you feel dissatisfied with yourself or your relationship. Maybe you are struggling with something from your past. Even if you have never tried counseling before, you may have reached the point where something needs to change.
You can experience personal growth and better relationships—counseling can help.
Hi, my name is Stephanie Cook, and I am a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and owner of Counseling ATL, LLC, a small counseling practice. I appreciate this opportunity to share with you who I am, and the counseling services I provide.
I offer couples, individual and family counseling. I am passionate about helping people create better lives and relationships by providing the most updated, effective, and evidence-based methods of counseling available.
With more than a decade of clinical experience working in the mental health field, I have helped people from diverse backgrounds with a variety of concerns. I completed a two-year clinical fellowship at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, where I provided counseling to students, faculty, employees, and their families. While working at Ridgeview Institute, a psychiatric and addiction treatment program, I provided therapy and education for adolescents and their families.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a research-based form of couples therapy, which is highly structured and goal-oriented, and is designed to help couples increase intimacy, better manage conflict, and build healthy, lasting relationships.
- Pre-Commitment and Premarital Counseling. I have specialized training through the PREPARE-ENRICH program.
My counseling office is located in the Poncey-Highland, an in-town neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, which is centrally located near Midtown, Morningside, Virginia Highlands, Little 5 Points, Emory University, and Decatur.
I currently have limited availability due to a very full practice; I work Mondays through Thursdays, 11am - 4pm and my availability is updated for my current clients through my online client portal; likewise you may call my assistant at 678-999-3390 to schedule.
My counseling sessions rates are $160 per hour and I do not take insurance but you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company. I also offer Saturday workshops for couples based on the research by the Gottman Institute (offered quarterly).
I recently collaborated with the Mercer University Marriage and Family Therapy program to create a counseling training program for graduate level interns. Jessica Settle, our 2017-2018 counseling intern, is now offering counseling services for individuals, couples and families at a reduced cost ($75) with convenient daytime, evening, and weekend hours on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
