Couples Therapy book club

for the licensed couples therapist who loves learning...

Since June 2017, I have been hosting a monthly book club for couples therapists (or aspiring couples therapists) who want to continue learning through reading. Much of our continuing education as clinicians takes place through reading, and several book clubs around the country have been providing a facilitated space for clinicians to gather to discuss (and test) their knowledge on their newly acquired knowledge.

I facilitate discussion and provide a safe, judgment-free space where lively discussion, personal reactions, and perspective on different clinical theories of couple therapy can help clinicians grow in their understanding of how to help couples in the clinical space. All of these books have been recommended through my training at the Gottman Institute, and by fellow therapists in the greater couples therapy community. If this year's book club is a success, we will continue next year. The cost is $25 to participate per meeting.

About:

  • Read (or re-read) some of the most relevant books related to couples therapy

  • Be part of lively discussion among therapists about the book and similar cases

  • Earn CEUs! Licensed masters level Georgia clinicians who have read and are able to pass a quiz on each book (must achieve 80% or more) will earn 2 CEUs. This book club has been approved by the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work for 2 continuing education credits per book club meeting (for LCSW/LMFT/LPC).

  • Connect with other clinicians to grow their professional skills, network, and learn from their peers

  • Hold yourself accountable to your own professional growth!

  • Come to one or come to all!

Location

We will meet in the Poncey-Highlands area of Atlanta, either at my office if the group is smaller, or at a nearby coffee shop or restaurant if the interest is large enough.

Cost

The cost is $25 to participate in each book club meeting. No refunds will be given. You will need to purchase, rent or borrow your book to read (see online links below).
