Parenting young children without a support network or "village" to rely on

Today, we want to address a topic that we see all too often in our practice - the isolation and overwhelm that can come with parenting young children without a support network or "village" to rely on. This situation has become even more prevalent during the pandemic, as many couples find themselves working from home with few boundaries and even fewer opportunities for outside help.

One of the key recommendations we make is for couples to sit down and have an open conversation about what kind of support they need and what that might look like. This could mean reaching out to family members, hiring a sitter, or exploring other options they may not have considered before.

It's important for couples to remember that they're not alone in this phase of life and that getting the right kind of support can make all the difference. Rather than just surviving day-to-day, we encourage couples to carve out time for themselves and for each other and to have open and honest conversations about what they need and how they can best support each other.

If you're feeling overwhelmed and isolated in your parenting journey, we want you to know that help is available. Our therapist Jessica Hart is a skilled couples therapist who has helped many couples navigate this season of life. You can schedule a free consultation with her through counselingatl.com or check out our upcoming webinar.

In the webinar, we'll be discussing how modern couples can build their own support network, even if they don't have the benefit of a traditional family "village" to rely on. We want to empower couples with the tools and skills they need to cultivate their own support network and thrive in their parenting journey.

Remember, you don't have to do this alone. There is hope, and expert help is available. We hope you'll join us for the webinar and take the first step toward building your own support network. You can learn more about the webinar down below.
