My Approach To Couples Therapy

We all have times in our life when we feel unhappy in our relationships. Maybe it’s a feeling of loneliness and disconnection, or resentment over unmet needs. Perhaps your personal stress is impacting your physical and emotional intimacy with your partner. Whatever the issue, it’s easy to feel alone in the struggle.

The thought of seeking outside help is scary for many people. What does it say about us that we need help? Is couples counseling only for those who are beyond saving?

In actuality, we know from extensive research that evidence-based therapies such as the Gottman Method are very effective in helping couples to heal from their emotional wounds and move forward in their relationships feeling stronger and more connected.

If you want to heal your relationship, I can teach you how.

Please note that I have limited space for new clients. Please reach out to me via email if you’d like to be added to the waiting list bridge@counselingatl.com.

  • “Working with Bridge has been one of the best experiences I’ve had. She’s professional, knowledgeable, and effective in her teaching of the concepts. She’s able to relate the ideas with real world examples to put into perspective for all parties. Sweet personality, clean and quiet space too. Also flexibility with virtual options is a plus for people like us who live 60+ miles away.”

My Specialties

I specialize in life transitions (new parenthood, career changes, grief), premarital / pre-commitment, LGBTQ+, stress and anxiety-related issues, depression, and a wide range of relationship concerns. I have received intensive training for treating couples and individuals through the Gottman Institute, PREPARE/ENRICH, and TEAM CBT. I enjoy working with couples, teens, and adults. I especially love “Walk and Talk” therapy with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

Throughout my life, I have always loved guiding and supporting others. In 2015, I felt called to travel and serve others when I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand. I completed my Bachelor’s in History from the University of the South (Sewanee) and my Master's in Professional Counseling from The University of Georgia. When not working, I enjoy running, tennis, traveling, and spending time with my partner, family, and dog.
